fox news slavery black lives mattersI can spot someone who only gets their news from Fox and Daily Caller in about two minutes. I like to think of it as my super power, but if I’m honest with myself, I have to admit it’s really just obvious. These folks are so blatantly distorted and factually off-the-charts wacko, I don’t even know how anyone with any common sense can avoid reality so consistently.
Every time I see one of their click-baity articles, I can usually go straight to an unbiased source (transcript or video) and see for myself how much they twist stuff to suit their agenda. Because the media, especially the conservative media and Fox News, loves to spin a story in order to get maximum ad revenue and ratings/traffic.

Today being a day that ends in “y”, Daily Caller has once again jumped in with a horribly inflammatory headline which was picked up by Fox News. Since the nation is in the middle of a huge race debate, and the hard right wants to blame President Obama and Black Lives Matter for all of it, I think we should keep a very close eye on them by making sure they are accurately reporting what is happening and certainly not contributing to the problem. (I know…this would be a full-time job by itself.)
Say what? That’s a pretty bold statement. My ounce of common sense tells me something seems a bit off. What did she actually say? Let’s look at the transcript of the conversation, shall we? The Daily Caller has it on their own page.

Appearing on “CNN Newsroom” with guest host Ana Cabrera, Lemieux said, “I have to say, I would not describe hate crime as the most comfortable word choice, considering these circumstances. There’s so much that we do not know about what took place, what motivated this person. We only have the one account of law enforcement. We haven’t had the opportunity to really look into his history in a meaningful way.” (VIDEO: DHS Secretary: ‘It’s Still Relatively Early’ To Call Dallas Attack A Hate Crime)
“When we use a phrase like ‘hate crime,’ we’re typically referring to crimes against people of color, people of various religious groups, LGBT people, people who have been historically attacked, abused or disenfranchised on the basis of their identity. To now extend that to the majority group and a group of people who have a history with African-Americans that has been abusive, and we can apply that to either police officers or to Caucasians, I think gets into very tricky territory.”
“So I’d be curious to know if he was referring to this as a hate crime because he singled them out by race or attempted to single them out by race or because they were police officers.”

Wow. I don’t know about you, but I do not get that out of what she said AT ALL. I don’t see a headline that includes the fact that the DHS Secretary is in agreement, either. But then again, I also do not have another click bait “vote here” on my article asking y’all if you think hate crimes should include crimes against white people…and by the way, email address required. Ms. Lemieux has already responded on Twitter renouncing this headline. I hope she is able to get out her message; I for one am sick and fucking tired of these assholes playing games and then pointing fingers at everyone else.
Tell me again which media is responsible for race baiting?
