Dear Sarah Palin: Fuck You. ‘Punk-Ass Thuggery’ is a Sucker Punch, Not a Protest

Sarah Palin has no idea what punk-ass thuggery is, though if she opened her eyes, she'd get a clue.

It seems like I have written a variation on this theme, God only knows how many times before. But here goes:

Fuck you, Sarah Palin. Once again you have proven to the world you don’t know shit about shit, and you’re an embarrassment to more than your country. You’re an embarrassment to carbon-based lifeforms everywhere. Watch the clip of the reigning Half-Term Queen of Derp from the North, describing to a group of Trump supporters at a rally in Florida, what she thought of the Chicago Protesters’ actions as only her ineffective brain functions will allow:

Now we all get it, Sarah. You think it’s “petty” and “punk-ass thuggery” for people to stand-up to Donald Trump’s supporters’ violence. It’s thuggery to show up en masse and peaceably — not “peacefully” as you said — assemble in a building at an event organized by people not smart enough to realize they could potentially let in a whole lot of people who don’t like them. Just when I thought your grasp on how the constitution works couldn’t get any more tenuous and/or non-existent.

No one robbed anyone of their First Amendment rights in Chicago. Sarah just doesn’t like what democracy looks like when her fellow reality-TV attention whore Donald is on the receiving end of it. Palin, and anyone else whining about their Freedom of Speech being violated need to take a very quick lesson in constitutional law and be reminded that the government doesn’t have a right to shout people down, but citizens sure as hell do as long as they aren’t inciting violence as they do so.

And let me be very clear here, no one has the right to deny someone the ability to speak freely, but that’s not what happened in Chicago. What happened there is that Trump simply did not want to face a hostile room. That would be like me doing a gig and canceling it because I heard there were people planning to heckle me. I can’t claim those people forced me to not perform, and Trump can’t claim his cowardice was subversion of his First Amendment rights, because he chose of his own volition to cancel the rally, even when Chicago PD and the Secret Service told them they could handle the additional security needs.

No, Sarah, what’s “punk-ass thuggery” is this, right here.

Punk-ass thuggery also looks like this:

The point I’m trying to make here is that as usual, Palin is 180 degrees from right. She’s forgetting, as pretty much every conservative outlet whining about Trump’s rights is forgetting, that the protesters didn’t show up for no reason. They showed up because of incidents of violence carried out on non-violent protesters.

How can anyone be surprised that conservatives are ignoring this reality the same way they ignore that Trickle Down is bullshit and climate change is a liberal hoax? Of course they wouldn’t at all understand why normal, decent human beings would protest Trump. But I’m not also not surprised that they’d mistakenly pin the blame for the rally being canceled on the protesters. The protesters didn’t threaten anyone. There weren’t any guns or bombs on any of their persons. Instead, what drove Trump to cancel the rally was simply that he knew there were too many protesters to have them all thrown out, period.

Sarah Palin is a disgusting human being. I know we all just want to ignore her, but we can’t. Not when she’s out there calling average Americans punks and petty for standing up to violent, racist assholes. Small government is one thing, but egging on violence and then throwing your hands up and pretending that those protesting said violence are the assholes is a bridge to Derpitstan that Sarah can take all by herself.

I should also take this time to yet again address the many conservatives who have asked a variation on this question in the last few days: Should Trump protesters be allowed to do the same thing to a Bernie rally?

The answer is, “Yes they should, because the Constitution.” As long as they’re not too busy waving their guns like their dicks around,  they’re more than welcome to protest. That’s what America is about. Something tells me Sanders wouldn’t be afraid to address the protesters, but I guess we’ll find out when enough of them stop making out with their sisters long enough to show up en masse anywhere except WalMart on BOGO sock and turkey jerky days.
